Ducklings Day Nursery is a unique environment, committed to very high quality care and education provided by high calibre staff. We value our nursery staff very highly and invest in their personal and professional development in order to achieve excellent outcomes.

Ducklings staff are recruited and vetted very carefully to ensure we have the right person for the job. We work closely with our staff, providing a supportive environment and regular supervision and appraisal sessions that help us to devise plans for development and training.

Staff development may include one-to-one coaching and mentoring between experienced and less experienced staff, in-house training or external courses. All staff are required to keep up to date with core training such as First Aid, Child Protection/Safeguarding and Food Hygiene. In addition, staff may undertake short courses based on elements of the EYFS or higher qualifications such as Foundation Degrees, Honours Degrees or Early Years Teacher Status. We also support our staff to undertake work-based NVQ training if they wish, in areas related to our profession, for example in Team Leading or Customer Service.

The Ducklings team is a happy and friendly group of people, always striving to provide the very best and with a passion for working with young children. We have regular staff meetings to share good practice, identify areas for improvement and disseminate new information to maintain contemporary good practice.
